A Plan Before a Page

The site began as governance, not markup: the scaffold came first, and the editorial spine was chosen before a single page existed.

Kickoff

The project started from three inputs: a written project brief, a style-and-colour study, and a draft Giza infographic. Before any content, the portfolio scaffold went in: the required planning files, a docs folder, versioned deployment folders, a local preview launcher, and a reserved port band (8810-8899) so this site’s previews never collide with its siblings.

The spine

The archetype was set as a utility-plus-content hybrid: converters and calculators as the tools, essays and dossiers as the content. The editorial decision that shapes everything after it was made the same day; measured fact and interpretation are kept visibly separate, and that split, not any single page, is the site’s claim to trustworthiness.

Reconstructed on 17 July 2026 from the project’s dated planning history; events and dates are real, nothing is invented.
