Build log

A Domain of Its Own

The site changed its name, took its domain, locked a release, and spent the rest of the day making every unit dossier answer for its sources.

The handoff

The project’s working identity changed from Esoteric Measurements to Ancient Measures, and production moved to this domain, with the old portfolio test surface reclassified as a legacy fallback. Version 3 was locked as the validated 235-page production artifact, version 4 was opened as an untouched working copy, and the sitemap went to Search Console.

Evidence, or the honest gap

The substantive work of the day was the unit-dossier enrichment: every one of the 191 dossiers now opens with context paragraphs and closes with a locally sourced evidence block. 154 of them carry three verified quotations from the site’s source library, checked visually against the PDFs before publication; the other 37 state their specific source gap rather than simulate relevance. That rule, say the gap out loud, is the editorial standard doing its job.

Code that a human can edit

A code-quality pass closed the day: 234 pages reformatted with consistent indentation, a documented three-font system (display serif for essays, a sans for interface, a mono for data), the shared stylesheet reorganised into documented Notepad-editable sections, and a missing colour token defined instead of being worked around.

Reconstructed on 17 July 2026 from the project’s dated planning history; events and dates are real, nothing is invented.
